Explosion of joy aboard Ocean Viking as Italy allows migrants to land

Migrants on board the Ocean Viking explode with joy after Italy said they would be authorised to land in Sicily. The rescue ship, operated by French NGO SOS Mediterranee, is now heading for the port of Porto Empedocle where it expects to arrive by Monday. IMAGES

    Almost 200 migrants rescued by a humanitarian aid boat in the Mediterranean Sea began to leave the vessel in Sicily late on Monday after nine days stuck on the ship.
