The media has also been brutal with the facts, placing the Democratic failures squarely at the feet of Progressives, AOC and her Squad. In an interview Ocasio-Cortez told the NY Times a defeated and demoralized AOC said she might quit politics. Her decision will depend on the hostility of her own party towards progressive causes. "I don't even know if I want to be in politics," she told The Times.

Cruz has faced immense backlash and increasing pressure to resign following his objection. Biden has even criticized the Texas senator and said he should be defeated in 2024. Since November, Cruz has sown doubts into the electoral process, says Business Insider. Cruz's communications director, Lauren Blair Bianchi, also left her job in the wake of the siege.

So, the activists are pressuring progressive lawmakers to refuse to vote for Pelosi unless she holds the first floor vote on Medicare-for-All. Business Insider reports that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is publicly rejecting those calls. AOC argues that Democrats don't have the votes to pass Medicare for All in the House.

Some progressive critics are disappointed with the lack of ideological diversity in the cabinet. In the past, AOC has called on Biden to choose progressive leaders for top White House roles. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez criticized Joe Biden for his cabinet picks when speaking to reporters. Xavier Becerra would be the first Latino person to serve as Secretary of Health and Human Services.
