    Around twenty people demonstrating against the disputed reelection of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko are arrested during a protest attended by roughly 1,000 people on Minsk's Independence Square, which has been the scene of unprecedented anti-government demonstrations in recent weeks. Since the August 9 election, mass demonstrations have pushed back against Lukashenko's claim to have won 80 percent of the vote and yet another term as president after 26 years in power.
