Protesters come out for the seventeenth consecutive day in Minsk, against President Alexander Lukashenko's disputed re-election. On Sunday 23 August 2020, tens of thousands took part in some of the largest protests in the country's recent history for a second Sunday in a row. Demonstrators have daily flooded the streets of the former Soviet country demanding the resignation of authoritarian leader Lukashenko since he claimed a sixth term in disputed elections on August 9.
