Pope Francis prays for Lebanon during public audience

Vatican City, Sep 2 (EFE), (Camera: Alvaro Padilla).- Pope Francis holds Wednesday his first public audience since lockdown in front of 500 people. During the audience, Francisco appealed for peace and dialogue in Lebanon. SOUNDBITES OF POPE FRANCIS ON WEDNESDAY:-"An extreme danger threatens the very existence of the country, Lebanon cannot be abandoned to itself."-"Lebanon has been a country of hope and that the Lebanese have always maintained their faith in God. They have demonstrated the ability to make their land a place of tolerance, respect, coexistence which is unique in the region."-"Lebanon is a message of freedom, it is an example of pluralism for both East and West. For the good of the country, but also of the world, we cannot allow this heritage to be lost."
