Pope Francis criticizes those who want to take political and economic advantage of the pandemic

Description

Vatican City, Sept 9 (EFE), (Camera: Álvaro Padilla).- Pope Francis on Wednesday criticized those who want to appropriate vaccines and take political and economic advantage of the coronavirus pandemic. He said at his weekly general audience that the world can emerge from the coronavirus crisis better than before "if we all seek the common good together."FOOTAGE AND SOUNDBITES OF POPE FRANCIS DURING A PUBLIC AUDIENCE ON WEDNESDAY."The crisis that we are facing due to the pandemic hits everyone; we can do better if we all seek the common good together. If not, we will come out worse.""Unfortunately, we are witnessing the emergence of partisan interests. For example, some would like to appropriate possible solutions, as in the case of vaccines. Some take advantage of the situation to foster divisions: to seek economic or political advantages, generating or increasing conflicts. Others they just don't care about the suffering of others, they go over it and go their way.""The Christian response to the pandemic and the consequent socio-economic crises is based on love.""A virus that does not recognise barriers, borders, or cultural or political distinctions must be faced with a love without barriers, borders or distinctions."
