Construction sector in Singapore hit by pandemic

Description

Singapore, Sep 8 (EFE/EPA).- Construction companies have been hit hard by the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic in Singapore as stop-work orders, implemented earlier in the year, put a halt to all building operations due to the numerous virus clusters found throughout the foreign worker population. The Ministry of Manpower eased its regulations for manpower allocation, to the relief of some firms, but dwindling revenue and the additional cost of isolating workers at separate sites for quarantine meant that some firms have had to close under the financial strain.
