And despite Trump's uncertain future, Lindell has not backed down from his baseless claims that somehow the election was stolen. Now, Gizmodo reports Lindell is facing some significant legal trouble from tweeting his conspiracy theories by Dominion Voting Systems. Despite presenting zero verified evidence, Lindell has accused Dominion of switching, stealing, or undercounting votes. You have failed to identify a scintilla of credible evidence that even suggests that Dominion is somehow involved in a global conspiracy to harvest millions of votes in favor of President-elect Biden Lawyers for Dominion Voting Systems Not only that, Lindell said Tuesday that Kohl’s, Wayfair, and HEB plan to stop selling his company’s products.
Christopher Krebs was the head of the US Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. But when he publicly stated the 2020 general election was the most secure in American history, President Donald Trump fired him by tweet. Krebs was pilloried in the conservative media, most notably by conservative news network Newsmax and Trump lawyer Joe diGenova. On national television, diGenova called for Krebs' summary execution, saying Krebs 'should be drawn and quartered,' and 'take out at dawn and shot.' Now, Gizmodo reports turnabout is fair play: Krebs and his lawyers are going after both diGenova and Newsmax. Krebs is suing for defamation after diGenova's comments allegedly lead to death threats against Krebs and his family.
The FBI is investigating a series of suspicious robocalls and texts urging voters to 'stay home and stay safe' during the election. A senior cybersecurity official said Tuesday that such calls 'happen every election,' and are a tactic to intimidate and suppress voters. According to Business Insider, approximately 10 million such robocalls have gone out to voters across the US in recent months. Officials in Michigan said that some voters in Flint also received calls telling them to go to the polls on Wednesday to avoid long lines on Tuesday. In Kansas and Nebraska, similar calls were reported. Officials urged voters in both states to ignore the false claims and head to the polls.
CNN columnist Chris Cillizza says that President Donald Trump is the underdog going into today's election. Cillizza says it is plausible that Trump gets to 270 electoral votes and a wins second term. First, Cillizza gave Trump the 125 Electoral votes solidly in his camp. The President would then have to win four states: Texas, Georgia, Ohio, Arizona. If he wins those he's up to 208 electoral votes. Then there is Florida, which gets him to 237. The President then needs to win Iowa and North Carolina. That gets him to 258. He would need 12 more to clinch. It all comes down to Pennsylvania. A win in Pennsylvania gives the President 278 electoral votes and makes him the clear winner.
President Donald Trump claims his campaign staff had to move the site of his rally to comply with Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf's COVID-19 protocols. At a rally in Allentown on Tuesday, Trump fumed about it to his supporters and issued a none-too-subtle threat to the state's Democratic governor. According to CNN, Trump threatened to withhold federal aid or other assistance the next time Pennsylvania needs it because Gov. Wolf inconvenienced him. I'll remember it, Tom. I'm gonna remember it, Tom. 'Hello, Mr. President, this is Governor Wolf, I need help, I need help.' You know what? These people are bad. President Donald J. Trump Campaign Rally, Allentown, Pennsylvania Trump's words may have a chilling effect on other governors, who do not wish to have to factor in Trump's wrath in making decisions for their state. It also indicates Trump's mindset that the public purse is something he can wield as a personal weapon against those who displease him.
