Life put on pause at children's homes in Argentina

Description

Buenos Aires, May 19 (EFE).- While the Covid-19 crisis has altered the lives of billions of people worldwide, for the 10,000 minors living at Argentina's 800 children's homes it has marked a particularly abrupt before and after.STATEMENTS BY VALERIA LEIVA, DIRECTOR OF THE LITTLE BUTTERFLY HOME"For a kid who's one and a half, starting to see his mom on a cellphone screen is extremely distressing. How do you explain that? How can you ease his stress if we don't know how long this will last or if his mom will be okay? We suspended all of the recreational activities we had, such as our yoga class and our music workshop. We told them that there is a virus called Coronavirus and because of this they can't go out, they can't go to the park or see their therapists or go to the mall."
