Inmates can now see loved ones after weeks of restrictions amid the pandemic

Description

Almeria (Spain), May 26 (EFE) - Already isolated from the rest of society, the inmates at El Acebuche prison in Almeria, Spain have had their contact with the outside world limited by the COVID-19 pandemic, although after weeks without seeing their loved ones in person, they were able to do so again on Monday.FOOTAGE OF THE EL ACEBUCHE PRISON IN ALMERIASOUNDBITES BY MIGUEL ÁNGEL DE AL CRUZ, DIRECTOR OF THE PRISONTRANSLATIONS: "As of this Monday, May 25, we are resuming the "new normal." Prison legislation establishes that the prison administration must strengthen the connection of inmates with the outside world, something that has been seriously hampered during the state of alarm.""Before visits were held on weekends, now they are going to be extended and will be held all week long, except for Wednesdays, which will be reserved for in-depth disinfection of the premises. Two communication shifts will be offered to the inmates' families and to the inmates themselves in the morning and two in the afternoon."
