'Dark days' for Venice gondola makers

Description

Already endangered, Venice's traditional gondola shipyards now lie silent, the only sound the gentle lapping of the canal water at their doorsteps. All have been at a near or complete standstill since a blanket ban on sailing gondolas during the coronavirus pandemic.
