Malaysia's former PM Mahathir Mohamad sacked from party amid power struggle

Petaling Jaya, May 29 (EFE/EPA).- Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on Friday vowed to challenge the dimissal, a day after he had been sacked from his Malaysian United Indigenous Party, commonly known as Bersatu, in the latest twist of a power struggle with his successor. Mahathir Mohamad, 94, was sacked on Thursday along with four other co-founders and parliamentarians from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM).According to local media, Mahathir, who led the party to victory in the 2018 general election, has challenged his dismissal.
