All-new 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio are on their way to the market. heir turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-fours, eight-speed automatic transmissions, and rear- and all-wheel-drive drivetrains all are unchanged for 2020. Both vehicles come with the same sharp handling, crisply communicative steering, confidence inspiring brakes, and rorty exhaust notes as their 2019 versions. The significant improvements for the Giulia and Stelvio reside inside their cabins and address several issues that have plagued both vehicles since their launches in 2017 and 2018, respectively. A new 8.8-inch infotainment touchscreen replaces both the 6.5- and 8.8-inch non-touch displays offered in last year's model. Despite the addition of the touch-sensitive panel, however, the redundant clickwheel on the center console has been retained. A new software interface designed by Marelli boasts an upscale appearance and can be customized to the driver's preferences. Functions such as radio settings, climate control, performance metrics, and the optional navigation system live on individual tiles that can be dragged and dropped in whatever order is preferred, similar to rearranging apps on an iPhone. Graphics and illustrations throughout the system are rendered more crisply than before, but several onscreen buttons are too small to easily operate while driving.

The first global special series, “ESTREMA” is equipped with a trim that puts it at the top of its range as it embodies the highest achievements in terms of technical and dynamic solutions, style, and sportiness. Its official debut took place at none other than the Alfa Romeo F1 Team’s Factory. Outside the limelight, Alfa Romeo and Sauber are carrying on with nonstop synergy which is founded on the exchange of their respective knowhow in an ongoing search for efficiency and state-of-the-art sustainable technology: the key territory for the new era of the brand.
Alfa Romeo pays further tribute to its unparalleled historical heritage, by presenting the new Giulia and Stelvio GT Junior special series, inspired by an icon of the 1960s, the GT 1300. The exclusive Limited Edition is based on the “Veloce” trim level, the sportiest in the line-up. Its exterior feature the captivating Lipari Ochre color, inspired by the nuances known as “Old Timers”: the brand’s distinctive Heritage and typical daring in its choice of strongly characterful hues. With its connotation of sporty minimalism, the interior includes electrically adjustable leather seats with distinctive “GT Junior” embroidery on the front headrest, along with specific stitching. Notable features on the dashboard: the stylish GT 1300 Junior pattern and silhouette of the 1960s.
In the new model year of Alfa Romeo Giulia and Alfa Romeo Stelvio, some new electronic driver assistance systems are presented, which offer a higher level of autonomous driving. The result is the so-called autonomous driving at level 2. This level is reached by definition when the vehicle under certain conditions takes over the control of accelerator, brake and steering. This is done through electronic systems that require constant monitoring by the driver, but support him and thus provide more comfort over long distances. However, the driver must always be alert and keep his hands on the steering wheel.
