Italy prepares to vote on reducing the size of parliament and senate

Description

Rome, Sep 19 (EFE).- Emma Bonino, 72, leader of Più Europa, defends the no in the referendum that will be held on September 20 and 21, that the proposed cut of parliamentarians is a populist strategy. On the contrary, Public Administration Minister Fabiana Dadone, 36, from the Five Star Movement, sees it as an opportunity to lighten the work of Parliament and cut costs. Italians will vote on whether to modify the Constitution to reduce the number of parliamentarians from 945 to 600. The Chamber of Deputies would have 400 members instead of the current 630 and the Senate would have 200 senators instead of the current 315.SOUNDBITES OF PIÙ EUROPA CAMPAIGN.
