Israel starts new lockdown at start of Jewish New Year

Jerusalem, Sep 18 (EFE), (Camera: Abir Sultán/Atef Safadi).- Israel went into a second national lockdown on Friday, the first day of Jewish New Year, amid widespread public discontent over the restrictions.Fresh measures came into force on the first day of the Jewish festival Rosh Hashanah which is normally celebrated with large family gatherings.Cities including Jerusalem and Tel Aviv were bustling with people on Friday morning as residents took advantage of their last opportunity to go to the hairdresser, buy clothes or visit cafes and restaurants.All these activities will be suspended for at least the next three weeks.FOOTAGE OF JERUSALEM AND TEL AVIV.
