Miami, Nov 3 (EFE/EPA).- Florida, one of the most heavily populated states and with a correspondingly large 29 votes in the Electoral College, is going into the Nov. 3 election with more than nine million ballots already cast, a record, and with President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden virtually tied in the voter surveys. The election results in this battleground state, which Trump won in 2016 by some 110,000 votes, are as yet unknown, with about two million independent voters and a large Hispanic population divided between the two main parties.Gov. Ron DeSantis promised on Tuesday that although the polls close at 7 pm, anyone already in line by that time will be allowed to vote and their votes will be counted. (Camera: CRISTOBAL HERRERA). Donald Trump has challenged America's democracy throughout his presidency. He's taking this to new conspiratorial heights as votes are still being counted in the 2020 election. Trump falsely declared victory in the 2020 election and called for votes to stop being counted. He also declared that votes arriving after Election Day "WILL NOT BE COUNTED," which is false. Vote counting is also a process the president has no authority over, says Business Insider. When other leaders have behaved the way Trump is right now, he has demanded they step down.
The Presidential Election process is complicated. Many steps have to be completed before a President can take office. Election Day is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. After citizens cast their votes the votes are counted by state election officials. Each states Board of Election announces which candidate has won the electoral votes of that state. A winner is then declared after all the states electoral votes are counted. In December, the electors hold meetings in their States to vote for President and Vice President. The electors seal Certificates of Vote and send them to the Office of Federal Register and Congress. In January, Congress sits in joint session to certify the election of the President and Vice President.
Early voting has started in the United States elections. What is early voting? Several states across the country open their polling sites a few days or a few weeks before election day. The polling sites are typically open from 9am to 5 pm, although this varies county to county. People line up and vote, just as they would on election day. The votes cast are not counted until election day.

Houston, Nov 3 (EFE/EPA).- The fear in part of the United States and specifically Texas, of a possible escalation of violence in the streets if the Democratic candidate for the White House, Joe Biden, wins the elections Tuesday, is latent in the southern state, whose population has traditionally been a lover of weapons. US presidential elections can be very tight. In 2000, for example, it took the Supreme Court to decide between Democrat Al Gore and Republican George W. Bush. But there are other ways to pick a winner in a tied US election. Take, for instance, the 1994 House of Representatives race in Wyoming. The governor broke the tie by pulling a Ping-Pong ball adorned with the name of the winner out of a cowboy hat. In the Silver State of Nevada, they settle ties by drawing cards—high card wins, naturally. This last happened in 2011, when neither frugal candidate in a North Las Vegas city council primary would pay $600 for a recount!
