Bike couriers deliver PCR tests to homes in Vienna

Description

Vienna (Austria), 23 Oct (EFE) (Camera: Antonio Sánchez Solís).- Instead of delivering packages or food to people’s homes, around 130 bike messengers in Vienna have started delivering free PCR tests to people with Covid-19 symptoms can be tested without leaving their homes. On behalf of the City's health authorities, couriers collect and deliver up to a thousand tests every day to different laboratories in the Austrian capital. The results take between 24 and 48 hours to be ready, and are communicated to the patients through a website that can be accessed with a personalized PIN code sent by text message to the patient’s mobile phone.FOOTAGE OF PCR HOME TESTING IN VIENNA, INCLUDES STATEMENTS BY DORIS HOFER, BIKE MESSENGER FROM THE SPEED TRANSPORT COMPANY, WHO CARRIES OUT PCR TESTS ON REQUEST OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF VIENNA Translations:1. "At the beginning when I started working I was very nervous and very careful. In the meantime I have more experience but I am very careful not to get too close. I have the feeling that the closest I get is through the envelope. But if one does the work very accurately then we don't touch each other. And since I ride my bike and am in the fresh air I think any virus that might be stuck to my clothes will fly away.2. "Right now I'm less afraid at work than when I go to the supermarket or take public transportation. There is a general price, with some extras, but not for this specific work for the covid test".3. "Some people open the door, with a mask and distance, or just open it a little, to make sure I don't get it. Others open the door and walk out as if nothing is wrong and say they don't have anything. But I tell people very clearly to leave everything on the floor, so it's very important to follow all the rules."

  • About 250 people attend a festival in Girona after passing PCR tests

Girona (Spain), May 2 (EFE) .- Some 250 people have attended the La Mercè Electrónica Festival in Girona on Saturday night after certifying with PCR tests that they are free of Covid-19. FOOTAGE OF THE FESTIVAL IN GIRONA, SPAINThe old 14th century convent, today converted into the La Mercè Cultural Center in Girona, has hosted the festival this afternoon, within the framework of a new test of the Obrir Girona project, which seeks to create spaces with a low capacity for transmitting the virus. Before entering, the 250 attendees - in addition to technicians and journalists - have shown the digital certificate that certifies that they have either been vaccinated or have passed the COVID in the last 3 months or have tested negative in an antigen test. At 5:00 p.m. the doors of the festival have been opened, which has had DJs such as Andrés Campo or Viviana Casanova, and that will last until after 10:00 p.m. In addition to proving that they were not positive for coronavirus, the attendees also had to wear an FFP2 mask that could only be removed, in the area enabled as a bar, located in the cloister, outdoors, since drinks could not be taken to the reserved space for the dance, you couldn't even smoke in the whole room. The Obrir Girona project started last week offering dinners in five restaurants in the city, and will last until the end of May.The procedure was the same as with the festival: before entering the establishments, diners had to show the digital certificate that certifies that they are free of covid. However, the initiative has also received criticism, and political parties such as Guanyem and restauradores de Girona have spoiled that six of the most expensive restaurants in the city have been chosen and have denounced that the participants of the test must pay for the certificate, which costs between 2.5 and 8.5 euros. Even the head of the L'Arest restaurant in Girona, Albert Caupena, filed a complaint this Friday with the Anti-Fraud Office for an investigation into what the public money earmarked for the project has been invested in. According to the Department of Digital Policies, the Generalitat contributed 125,000 euros in Obrir Girona, included in the agreement that it signed with the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce and that was endowed with 300,000 euros in total. The promoter of the pilot test is the Blockchain Center of Catalonia, an entity led by the Chamber of Commerce. IMAGES OF THE SHOW AND PRE-ACCESS MEASURES
