New Delhi/McLeod Ganj, Mar 10 (EFE/EPA).- Thousands of exiled Tibetans gathered in the Indian cities of New Delhi and Dharamsala on Wednesday to commemorate the 58th anniversary of the Tibetan national uprising. The protesters gathered to mark the 62th anniversary of Tibet's failed uprising in 1959 against Chinese rule, led by the Dalai Lama, who had fled to India after the resistance failed. China says that Tibet has been a part of its territory for centuries and in 1951 it was "liberated from the theocracy" of the Dalai Lama, while the Tibetans argue otherwise. There are more than 130,000 Tibetan refugees in India, according to the authorities.
