Number of ICU patients rise to 60 in Catalonia amid pandemic

Barcelona, July 19 (EFE) - The number of patients admitted to ICU as a result of Covid-19 in Catalonia has now reached 60 as of Sunday, twenty more than ten days ago and three more than the day prior, in a trend that continues to rise, according to data released this Sunday by the Department of Health. This includes the demand for liposuction, cellulite treatments and nose jobs. The doctors believe that there are a number of reasons why demand is so high amid the pandemic. -Plastic surgery historically peaks during vacation season, when people are out of work. Because a lot more people are working from home, this has may have an impact. They also point to stress during the COVID crisis playing a role. Jessica Weiser, a board-certified dermatologist in New York City said, "No one has ever really looked at themselves in this way — for this long or this frequently — and I think that's driving a lot of the demand."
