The role of Alex Saab in Venezuela's CLAP program

Description

Caracas, Jun 23 (EFE).- (Camera: Andry Rincón) Colombian businessman Alex Saab, arrested in Cabo Verde and accused of being the frontman of the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has a key role in the government's CLAP program, which is in charge of distributing subsidized food - many of it imported - to the most disadvantaged families in the country.According to the Venezuelan opposition, the 48-year-old from Barranquilla has made a fortune by selling thousands of tons of food of dubious quality and with extra costs to the Maduro government, which caused a million-dollar loss of capital to the country.FOOTAGE OF THE DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD (CLAP).
