Talks with UK's authorities continue, Spain's foreign minister says

Ankara (Turkey), Jul 27 (EFE),(Camera: Lara Villalón).- Spain's foreign minister Arancha González Laya said on Monday she hopes to convince UK's authorities with updated epidemiological data so the UK's government won't impose a 14-days quarantine to travellers who arrive in the country from the Balearic and Canary Islands.SOUNDBITES OF SPAIN'S FOREIGN MINISTER ARANCHA GONZÁLEZ LAYA DURING HER OFFICIAL VISIT TO TURKEY:"Last Saturday the UK's government announced several measures they would take regarding Spain which included the quarantine for travellers arriving in the UK from Spain and also the recommendation of not travelling to Spain, excluding from that recommendation the Balearic and the Canary Islands. At that moment, we started our talks with British authorities to clarify our epidemiological data, which always have to be the reference to make this kind of restrictions to curb the coronavirus.""This morning heath experts from both countries met, talks continue and I hope that the strenght of our data and explanations will show results very soon."
