Colombo, Sep 22 (EFE/EPA).- Sri Lanka's health workers staged a protest Wednesday demanding proper facilities and protective equipment needed for Covid -19 related works, additional allowance for overtime work, and special Covid -19 allowance. The trade union action was carried out in most government hospitals throughout the country, according to the relevant trade unions. With the third wave of the pandemic hitting Sri Lanka, health workers too have engaged in a series of protests and demonstrations advancing their demands while the government has not positively responded to their claims.
