Belarus: potash miners rally against election fraud

Description

Dozens of miners from the Belaruskali potash mine gather for a protest rally in the centre of Soligorsk, an industrial town about 135 km south of Belarus' capital Minsk to denounce election fraud. Belarus's authoritarian leader Alexander Lukashenko, who has controlled the isolated ex-Soviet country for 26 years, claimed victory in the August 9 election that sparked historic protests and a brutal police crackdown condemned by Western countries.
