Enterprise representative asks Nicaragua to control basic basket prices for three months

Managua, Mar 23 (EFE) .- The Nicaraguan Council of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (CONIMIPYME) proposed on Monday to the Nicaraguan Government to control for three months the prices of the basic goods and of pharmaceutical and hygiene products linked to preventing the coronavirus pandemic.The president of the Council, Leonardo Torres, also asked the Nicaraguan financial system to reduce the interest rates on loans, and suspend payment on credit cards for two months.He also urged the Nicaraguan Energy Institute (INE) to lower the electricity rate.The idea, explained the businessman, is to seek a balance that hurts the Nicaraguan economy as little as possible, which is going through its deepest crisis in the last 30 years.(Camera: RENEE LUCIA RAMOS)FOOTAGE SHOWS B-ROLL OF NICARAGUANS BUYING BASIC GOODS, PRODUCING MASKS, GETTING THEIR TEMPERATURE CHECKED AND DISINFECTING THEIR HANDS.
