Coronavirus: Moscow outer ring road still busy on first day of lockdown

Description

A few cars still drive on Moscow's circular ring road following the adoption of strict isolation rules decreed by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in a bid to curb the spread of novel coronavirus. The new restrictions apply to all the city's residents, regardless of age. They are only allowed to leave their homes in the case of a medical emergency, to travel to jobs judged essential by the authorities, and to shop for food or medicine. IMAGES
