Vienna, Oct 9 (EFE) .- (Camera: Antonio Sánchez Solís) A co-worker of Elisabeth has tested positive for COVID. A relative of Anna has also been infected. Maria has just returned from abroad. The three have been to one of the two 'self-services' in which the city of Vienna has already carried out thousands of free tests.The first of these 'teststraßen' (literally 'test street') was opened in mid-August for those returning from Croatia, one of the favourite holiday destinations for Austrians and where infections soared in late summer.The operation was extended to those who arrived from other countries, and even from other regions of Austria, and later to those who had been in contact with confirmed positives.FOOTAGE OF THE SERVICE.SOUNDBITES AND TRANSLATIONS OF:Elisabeth, a user of the service: 1- "A colleague from work has tested positive. I don't have to come, but my boss has told me that safety is safety, and that it is better for me to take the test because, otherwise, the disease can infect office". Corina Had, spokesperson for the crisis cabinet of the Vienna City Council: 2.- "So far we have done 55,000 tests, of which about 5,000 have tested positive. So we have located many positives that we have been able to isolate, and thus prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Vienna."
