According to a report by CNN, Kate Spade's apparent suicide is the latest in a series of tragic and troubling cases of high-profile fashion designers who have hanged themselves. Designer Alexander McQueen hanged himself in his London apartment in February 2010. Just four years later, L'Wren Scott was found dead in her New York apartment in March of 2014, hanging from a door knob with a scarf around her neck. On Tuesday, designer Kate Spade was found by her housekeeper, hanged by a scarf allegedly tied to a doorknob, according to a New York Police Department source. CNN reports that a second NYPD source also said that a suicide note was found, though they did not disclose the contents of the letter.
