Hundreds Of People Are Stuck On A Migrant Rescue Boat After Italy Shut Its Ports

Description

More than 600 people, including unaccompanied children, were stranded on a migrant rescue ship in the Mediterranean for hours after Italy closed its ports. The MV Aquarius received rejections from both Italy and Malta at their requests to dock. The new Spanish leader Pedro Sanchez made a statement saying the ship would be welcome to dock in Valencia. The ship is awaiting food and supplies from Maltese authorities ahead of its voyage to Spain, as the journey will take several days and Buzzfeed reports they are running out of food.
