Multiple Government Agencies Are Investigating Facebook Data Breach

Description

The federal investigation into Facebook’s Cambridge Analytica data-sharing scandal has expanded into multiple agencies. The scandal involved the harvesting of data of at least 87 million users without their consent. The Department of Justice is the latest agency to join the investigation into the scandal. Other agencies probing Facebook include the FBI, the SEC and the Federal Trade Commission. Per Gizmodo, it's unclear if the investigation could result in “criminal charges or civil penalties.”
