Description

The fourth round of the Ferrari Challenge Asia-Pacific played at Fuji offered a second race full of excitement and spectacle that embellished the last day of the Ferrari Racing Days on the Japanese track. On a beautiful sunny day, 34 riders battled in the three classes with the successes that went to Renaldi Hutasoit in the Pirelli Trophy, and again to Tani Hanna and David Dicker in the Shell Cup and Shell Am Cup.

    In the second round of the Ferrari Challenge APAC Round 5 the riders of the series found themselves having to deal with very high temperatures, up to 45 degrees on the asphalt of the Suzuka track. The race saw Tani Hanna approach the mathematical victory of the Shell Cup title, while Renaldi Hutasoit and Atsushi Iritani respectively took home the successes in the Pirelli Trophy and the Shll Am Cup.

  • APAC Sepang 2019 Race 1 Highlights

    Race 1 of the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific Round 2 took place under the floodlights of the Sepang International Circuit. This is the very first night race for the 21 Ferrari 488 Challenge drivers racing at Sepang, who pitted themselves against the challenging 5.543 kilometre circuit with 15 twisting turns to see who could come up top. The sky opened just before the race started but with the hot conditions on track, the racetrack dried up very quickly and there was no need for wet tires.

  • Ferrari Challenge APAC 2018 Heroes

    The eighth season of the Ferrari Challenge APAC saw two experienced drivers win and many other talents emerge in a very exciting year.Trofeo Pirelli. In Melbourne, Rama Danindro (Ferrari Jakarta) pulled off a surprise double win, but it was quickly clear that Philippe Prette (Blackbird Concessionaires) would be in the title fight right down to the wire with Renaldi Hutasoit (Ferrari Jakarta) and teammate Alex Au, who was back after some years out of the the Ferrari one-make series. Prette won four races, one more than Au but the same as Hutasoit, who however had skipped the first two outings. The three found themselves on the eve of the last race with only two points between them. Prette was on 176, Au on 175 and Hutasoit on 174. Finally, Prette came out on top, largely due to the enormous experience he had gained from 11 seasons of racing.Coppa Shell. Tani Hanna, another old acquaintance of the Ferrari Challenge, dominated the Coppa Shell. The Scuderia Lebanon driver collected eight wins and wrapped up the title in Singapore. The season also saw wins for Yanbin Xing (CTF Beijing) in Race-2 at Hampton Downs, Kazuyuki Yamaguchi (Cornes Osaka), in the two races at Singapore, Eric Zang, at Melbourne and Shanghai, and Vincent Wong in Race-1 at Melbourne.Coppa Shell Am. David Dicker won nine races, monopolising the Coppa Shell Am at the wheel of the 488 Challenge of Continental Cars NZ. The Australian clinched the title with a round to spare, overtaking his teammate Grant Baker, who was always on the podium but never victorious, Andrew Moon (Forza Motors Korea), winner in Melbourne and Hampton Downs, and Kent Chen (Modena Motori), who triumphed in Race-1 at Suzuka and Singapore. David Dicker also won the Coppa Gentlemen, while Kanthicha Chimsiri took the Ladies’ Cup.

    The second round of the Ferrari Challenge APAC series at Sepang International Circuit came to a close under very hot and sunny conditions with track temperatures at a high of 45.5 degree Celsius. The 20 drivers in the field once again showcased great driving skills during an eventful Race 2.

  • Ferrari Challenge NA, Virginia 2021 - Highlights Race 2

    The 2021 season of Ferrari Challenge North America is set to begin this weekend at Virginia International Raceway. A full paddock of over 50 Ferrari 488 Challenge Evos will be joined by participants in the Club Competizioni GT, also making its first stop of the 2021 season, at a circuit that makes its first appearance on a Challenge schedule since 2007.The paddock in Virginia is full of Ferrari, most notably the 40 Ferrari 488 Challenge Evos that are set to compete in the weekend’s races. The grid is set with an exciting mix of familiar faces and new names who will do battle over the circuit’s challenging 3.27 mile layout. Notable returnees include all of the 2020 North American champions. Cooper MacNeil (Ferrari of Westlake) makes his return and another run at the Trofeo Pirelli class championship, while Dave Musial (Ferrari of Lake Forest) will challenge for supremacy in the Trofeo Pirelli AM-1 category. Brad Horstmann (Foreign Cars Italia), fresh off securing his championship at Misano earlier in March will be in the middle of a very competitive Trofeo Pirelli AM-2 category that also includes the 2020 Coppa Shell AM champion Justin Wetherill (Ferrari of Central Florida).
