"Jaguar has today launched an intelligent app designed to help motorists experience life with an electric vehicle (EV), before actually owning one. The Go I-PACE app captures journey data to calculate potential cost savings, shows how much battery would be used per trip and tell users how many charges they would need in a week if they were driving the I-PACE. In recent years, there has been a worldwide acceptance of electric vehicles, with over 1.9 million battery electric vehicles used globally in 2017. China is currently ranked as the largest market for all-electric vehicles, though countries like the US and Norway are also growing considerably, often triggered by government incentives such as subsidies and exemption from toll and parking fees. According to recent reports by ‘The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders’ (SMMT), many British drivers are still mistrustful or confused when it comes to pure electric cars. Research has shown that more than 52% of consumers are interested in purchasing electric cars, but hesitate due to concerns such finding a charging spot, or not feeling like they know enough about how an EV actually works. As a result, Jaguar has teamed up with Presenter and Creator of Fully Charged Show Robert Llewelyn, to help customers realise the benefits and simplicity of actually owning an electric vehicle. "

Based on the average daily mileage of small car users in Europe, which is 30 kilometers, these values allow use in an urban environment for more than a week without stopping charging. The range can be further increased by using the energy-saving ECO mode.The flexible charging system allows the battery of the city car to be supplied with energy via Schuko charging at a standard household socket, via a wallbox and, optionally, via a DC charging station.

General Motors gained as much as 8.9% to a record high on Tuesday. The gain comes on news that its autonomous vehicle subsidiary, Cruise, is receiving a large investment from Microsoft. Microsoft joins a number of companies in a $2 billion funding round for Cruise. Tuesday's price is a record-high for GM since it emerged from bankruptcy at the end of the Great Recession. The partnership will accelerate the commercialization of self-driving vehicles. It brings together the two companies' software and hardware engineering expertise, cloud computing capabilities, and manufacturing knowledge.
