Two women danced together at the Tango World Cup in Buenos Aires to challenge machismo and traditional gender role expectations.
Gabriela Fernanda Torres, a wheelchair bound professional tango dancer, hit the hardwood stage with her partner Pablo Rafael Pereyra for the qualifying round of the Stage Tango Category in the Tango World Championship in Buenos Aires on Thursday, in what is believed to be a first for the competition. The dancers described this as an opportunity to bring about social change in how people look at wheelchair users in the field of dance. The 2017 Buenos Aires Tango Festival and Dance World Cup finished up on August 23. Buenos Aires is the home of Tango, the dance form originated here in the late 18th century.
Former FC Barcelona and Ajax legend Johan Cruyff has died at his home in Barcelona Thursday aged 68. The football legend was diagnosed cancer in October last year.

Previously, the brand revealed the Chrysler Portal Concept in 2017, the Chrysler Airflow Concept in 2022 and the Chrysler Synthesis Cockpit Demonstrator in 2023.Chrysler will launch the brand’s first battery-electric vehicle in 2025 and will feature an all-electric portfolio in 2028. The Chrysler Halcyon Concept reinforces the brand’s commitment to the Stellantis Dare Forward 2030 plan, which cultivates the electrified and more efficient propulsion systems that will enable Stellantis to cut its global carbon footprint by 50% by 2030 and to lead the transportation industry by achieving net carbon zero by 2038.
Spanish World Cup-winning star Jenni Hermoso leaves court after testifying about the kiss forced on her by disgraced former Spanish football chief Luis Rubiales.
