Formula E raises a glass to the start of Season 6, as German rivals Audi, BMW, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz prepare to go head-to-head for the first time in motorsport history. With less than eight weeks to go until the start of Formula E’s biggest-ever season, Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler driver Daniel Abt joined representatives from new German manufacturers Mercedes-Benz and Porsche in his hometown of Munich, as guests of the world-famous German festival.Abt, who was joined by Mercedes-Benz EQ team principal Ian James and Porsche´s Director of Factory Motorsport Pascal Zurlinden in Munich, said: “Whilst we will enjoy each other’s company tonight, I’m looking forward to going head-to-head with the new German teams when the lights go green in Saudi Arabia on November 22nd.“The rivalry between the four German manufacturers is the big talking point going into Season 6 of Formula E, and when you look through the grid, I think this season’s line-up of teams and drivers is the most competitive there’s ever been in motorsport."The German driver – whose Audi team has won the past two Formula E races in Berlin – added: “This is a historic battle between four German giants of motorsport, and I’d love nothing more than to take another victory in front of the Berlin fans at my home E-Prix next summer”.

World premiere of the new Porsche 99X Electric Gen3 Formula
With the Porsche 99X Electric Gen3, Porsche is entering a new era of Formula E. The electric single-seater, the product of an evolution at the Porsche Development Center in Weissach, was presented at the Porsche Experience Center in Franciacorta, Italy. The TAG Heuer Porsche team will use it in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship from the 2023 season.The new Gen3 are the fastest, lightest, most powerful and efficient electric single-seaters ever built. They have been specifically designed for wheel-to-wheel duels on the tight street circuits of the world's cities where Formula E traditionally contests its races.The general concept of the Porsche 99X Electric Gen3 and the other vehicles of the new generation of Formula E constitutes an important evolutionary step. The vehicles have lost weight, have a shorter wheelbase and narrower tracks. The battery has been reduced in size, but is more powerful. It also increases the proportion of energy recovered. In addition, the aerodynamics and design have been modified. In short, the new single-seaters are more agile, which improves performance on the track.
