Hundreds Of Protesters Arrested In Senate Building Immigration Sit-In

Description

Nearly 600 protesters were arrested during an occupation of a U.S. Senate office building in Washington. The protests were against U.S. President Trump’s “zero- tolerance” stance on illegal immigration. The protesters were mostly women dressed in white, Reuters says. The protesters sat on the Hart Senate Office Building’s marbled floors and wrapped themselves in metallic silver blankets. The blankets represent those given to migrant children separated from their families at the U.S. border. They chanted, “Say it loud, say it clear, immigrants are welcome here.”
