A federal judge has ruled 114,000 homeless students in New York City are to have their day in court. Business Insider reports a judge has allowed a class-action lawsuit to advance to expedite the roll-out of WiFi to homeless shelters across the city. The suit was filed when homeless students were unable to access the internet in homeless shelters during periods of remote learning this year. Business Insider reports the city provided students with iPads with unlimited cellular data, but many have had trouble getting proper cell service. US District Judge Alison Nathan wrote in her opinion that homeless students are deprived of their right to education without internet connectivity. Around a hundred people protested in Lodi, Italy, demanding that over 200 migrant children are allowed back into a local school canteen, from where they were excluded few days ago due to not being able to meet documentation requirements from the council. According to reports, the council gave a green light for the return of children to the canteen, after 60,000 euros were raised by an appeal. The city council demanded that migrant parents provide documents from their countries of origin containing information about their wealth and income, in addition to documents from Italian authorities.
