Study Suggests Flight Attendants At Higher Risk Of Developing Cancer

Description

According to a new study, flight attendants may face increased risks of developing multiple kinds of cancer, including both melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, uterine, gastrointestinal, cervical, thyroid, and breast cancers. CNN reports that the new study, published Monday in the journal Environmental Health, suggests that flight attendants are often exposed to carcinogens like pesticides, fire retardants, jet fuel and other chemicals more frequently than the general population. While the World Health Organization has claimed that flight attendants are exposed to higher levels of cosmic ionizing radiation which also poses a cancer risk.
