Les joueurs finalistes venus du monde entier s'y sont donné rendez-vous. Mais c'est l'étudiant en ingénierie turc Fehmi Atalar qui sort vainqueur de cette compétition, à seulement 19 ans (le jeu Tetris est deux fois plus âgé que lui). La partie à eu lieu de nuit à l'intérieur du Dubaï Frame, un bâtiment en forme de cadre de 150 mètres de hauteur pour 93 mètre de largeur.
