What is being billed as Cuba's first true luxury hotel has opened in Havana, with local officials inaugurating the Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski on Wednesday. Representatives from the Swiss-based Kempinski Hotels group and the Cuban government gathered at the site for a ribbon cutting ceremony, officially opening the island's most luxurious hotel in decades. Located in a renovated 1920's shopping mall in Old Havana, the five-star property is run by Kempinski but formally owned by the Cuban government.
Michigan-native, 18-year-old Catherine Conley, has become the first American to train full-time at Cuba's prestigious National Ballet School after diplomatic relations between the two countries normalized. Jillian Kitchener reports.
