Two families are demanding answers after a black man and a black woman were fatally shot by police at a Chicago apartment building. Vanessa Johnston reports.
An off-duty New York police officer shot and killed one of two men who robbed him during a Craigslist scam in Queens on Monday, the New York Times reported.
A British police officer was killed early Monday morning after being hit by a stolen car during a high-speed police chase in Merseyside, Liverpool.The incident occurred after a burglary at a real estate agency just after 1 a.m. The thieves stole a Mitsubishi pickup truck, which patrol officers spotted at 1:28 a.m. A high-speed chase then ensued. The Mitsubishi appeared to deliberately drive onto the raised central divider where two officers were standing. The officers had just thrown down a stop stick in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The pickup ran over one of the officers and then fled the scene. The officer was later pronounced dead at the hospital.The stolen Mitsubishi was found abandoned a short while later on Corbyn Street in Wallasey.A murder investigation is under way and police are examining CCTV to try to identify those involved.
