  • Tom Cruise Injured Performing Mission: Impossible Stunt

During filming of Mission: Impossible 6, Tom Cruise has reportedly injured himself performing a stunt. For years Cruise has prided himself on performing his own stunts; most recently he did 64 takes in zero gravity to bounce around the cabin in a plunging aircraft in The Mummy. The actor has most famously pushed the limits in his Mission: Impossible films. He's back to performing his own stunts again for Mission: Impossible 6. But it appears that he fell short trying to pull off a risky maneuver. According to TMZ, Cruise was injured during a building-jumping stunt Sunday on the London set of the film. The actor was attempting to leap from a rigging onto a building when he felt short of the mark and “hit the building pretty hard.”

According to reports, one of the quarrelsome points is Cruise's back-end profit participation. Cruise is allegedly seeking to match or exceed what he is being paid by Universal for starring in The Mummy. This is the second hiccup for Mission: Impossible 6. Earlier issues with the script had already pushed back a November start date.

  • ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Pushed To Summer Of 2020

That’s to say Variety is reporting that Top Gun: Maverick, the very, very belated sequel to Tom Cruise’s second mega-hit, from all the way back in Reagan-heavy 1986, has been pushed back just shy of a whole year, from July 2019 to June 2020. That includes co-star Miles Teller, playing the grown son of Anthony Edwards’ late pilot Goose (spoilers!) — in real planes, because having the stars sit in front of screens à la real drone pilots would be kind of boring to watch.
