  • Porsche Top 5 - Superlative speed

The Porsche Top 5 series turns its attention to speed. Episode two sets out to resolve the question of all questions: which of the sports car manufacturer’s models is the fastest?#5 Porsche 911 Turbo S. The first to appear is the Porsche 911 Turbo S – a sports car that masters the balancing act between everyday driveability and breathtaking acceleration. Its 3.8-litre turbo horizontally opposed engine in the rear produces 580hp. Speeds of over 300km/h are no problem for this high-performance athlete.#4 Porsche Carrera GT. The 911 is subsequently overtaken by none other than the Carrera GT. Its 612hp V10 engine accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in a mere 3.9 seconds, emphasising the racing genes of this legendary super sports car. It is also the first standard-production vehicle whose monocoque chassis and subframe are made entirely of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP).#3 Porsche 959 S. For the next candidate, we take another step back in history: the Porsche 959 S. In the mid-1980s, the Porsche 959 was the first model to be nicknamed “super sports car”. The reason: a 2.8-litre six-cylinder horizontally opposed engine made the 959 the world’s fastest sports car. The 959 S took this to yet another level. The 29 units produced generated even more power - up to 515hp.#2 Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The next nominee brings spectators back to the present day: the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. This two-time Nürburgring-Nordschleife record-holder is pure motorsport for the road, and also demonstrates its strengths on the long straights. The 700hp slumbering within its 3.2-litre horizontally opposed engine catapult the driver from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.8 seconds.#1 Porsche 918 Spyder. In the lead, however, is another record-holder. The 918 Spyder shows just what its combined hybrid power of 887hp can achieve. With an acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in only 2.6 seconds, it’s no surprise that the 918 Spyder wins this Top 5 ranking.

  • Porsche 911 GT3 RS GT in Silver on the track

The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS is synonymous with precision at the very highest level. This high-performance 911 weighs just 1,430 kilograms and its six-cylinder engine now delivers an output of 383 kW (520 hp). Developed by the Porsche motorsport department based on the 911 GT3 and its racing colleague the GT3 Cup, the RS has a clear focus on delivering optimum race track dynamics. Among the features that help deliver this emphasis are the enhanced four-litre flat engine and the new running-gear setup. The rear-axle steering has been adapted to suit the new tuning and also supports the agile design of the vehicle, while simultaneously enhancing stability. The appearance of the wide, weight-optimised body is dominated by an aerodynamic design with an emphasis on downforce. And despite the strong downforce, the GT3 RS can achieve a top speed of 312 km/h. The large rear wing, like the widened front wings with high-mounted ventilation slits, is made from ultra-lightweight carbon. The interior is also dominated by a racing feel, and the full bucket seats made from carbon provide secure lateral support even when strong lateral forces are present. Lightweight door panels and reduced sound absorption are further illustrations of the consistent lightweight construction.

  • The new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ Coupe Highlights

The second generation of the Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé is the new top model in the Mercedes-AMG range. It combines highly dynamic driving characteristics with increased suitability for everyday use. High-tech components such as the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension with semi-active roll stabilisation, standard rear-axle steering and active aerodynamics sharpen the active driving profile. The sporty coupé is also taking its output to the road for the first time with the fully variable all-wheel drive AMG Performance 4MATIC+. Combined with the AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine, this results in a driving experience of the highest level. The exclusive AMG sports car architecture with an elaborate composite aluminium body structure allows the car to be configured as a 2+2 seater. For a sports car in this class, this means a very generous interior for passengers and plenty of space for their luggage. As the fifth independent model series after SLS, the first generation of the two-door GT, GT 4-door Coupé and SL, the new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé once again demonstrates the high technological expertise of the Affalterbach development team. The vehicle will be available as an AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ Coupé with 430 kW (585 PS) of output in October 2023 and as an AMG GT 55 4MATIC+ Coupé with 350 kW (476 PS) of output in July 2024.
