Despite overwhelming evidence proving at least 2,975 people died in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, President Donald Trump has chosen to sully the memory of those U.S. citizens in a series of tweets in which he rejected scientific research and his own government's assessment. The tweets come just before the one-year mark of Hurricane Maria barreling through Puerto Rico as a Category 4 storm, becoming one of the worst natural disasters the United States has seen in recent history.
