If you're planning on attending the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea, which kick off in just a few days, make sure to bring your warmest winter gear. Yes, this is a real human head. You may have read about shrunken heads in some fiction literature, but shrinking the heads of enemies was common practice for some tribes of South America. And now, what may have earlier been the stuff of legends, can be your for the low price of 52,000 dollars. The shrunken head is being put up for sale by a taxidermist shop called Museumwinkel from the Dutch city of Nijmegen. In fact, the 150 year old shrunken head even has a name - the taxidermists have lovingly called him Henk. Although Henk's head was shrunken by Native Americans from Ecuador, Henk's origin may surprise you. Museumwinkel deals in a lot of oddities and stuff animals from around the world, but Henk is their most unusual piece ever. It's not exactly clear what route the shrunken head traveled after the living Henk was killed and scalped and it's also not clear how Henk ended up on the shelves of Museumwinkel - those little details will most likely become secrets of history. As creepy as it sounds, Henk the shrunken head is likely bound for a different home soon. This rare specimen will perhaps end his journey in the collection of a wealthy private individual, but at least we got to learn about his story before he disappears.
