    Reuters reports A witness has stated that a team of Turkish police investigating the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi has left the Saudi consulate building in Istanbul,. Turkish police investigators had entered the consulate late on Monday. A Turkish diplomatic source had earlier said that a joint Turkish-Saudi team would search the consulate - the last place Khashoggi was seen before he vanished on Oct. 2.

    Reuters reports that Turkish authorities believe that prominent Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was killed. Khashoggi disappeared four days ago after entering Saudi Arabia’s consulate in Istanbul. The authorities believe he was killed inside the consulate. One Turkish official told Reuters, “The initial assessment of the Turkish police is that Mr. Khashoggi has been killed at the consulate of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul. We believe that the murder was premeditated and the body was subsequently moved out of the consulate." The sources did not say how they believed the killing was carried out. Saudi Arabia’s consul-general told Reuters on Saturday his country was helping search for Khashoggi. He dismissed talk of his possible abduction.

    Getty A Turkish politician claimed on Monday that journalist Jamal Khashoggi's body was dumped in a well on the grounds of the the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. It wasn't clear where Doğu Perinçek got that information, and the Turkish president did not address it in a speech on Tuesday. Turkish state media reported on Wednesday that Turkish police were given permission to search the well. Saudi officials initially refused to allow the search, state media said.

    According to a report by CNN, on Tuesday, Turkish officials claimed that the body of missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi was cut into pieces after he was killed two weeks ago at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, without citing any evidence to support the claims. Earlier on Tuesday, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkish investigators were looking into "toxic" and "painted over material" as part of their inquiry.
