Californians Homeless From The Wildfire Prepare For Heavy Rain

Heavy rains are expected in Northern California late on Tuesday, raising the risk of mudslides, says Reuters. Many people have been made homeless in the region by the state’s deadliest wildfire and remain huddled in parking lot encampments. State officials warned people to be alert to sudden flows of debris down the slopes of the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Since the Camp Fire erupted on Nov. 8 and largely obliterated the town of Paradise, the remains of 79 victims have been found. Heavy showers risk setting off mudslides, making it more difficult for forensic teams to search for additional human remains.
