Supporters of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' New Democracy party blare air horns at the party's main electoral kiosk in Athens as exit polls show the party to be on course to win Sunday's election. His New Democracy party is projected to have obtained 36 to 40 percent of the votes -- well ahead of leftist challenger Alexis Tsipras' Syriza party, which is expected to have secured 25 to 29 percent of the ballot - but could be forced to call a second round of votes as it failed to garner enough support to rule alone. One new form of stress therapy is gaining popularity in Switzerland. Stressed out Swiss citizens are lining up to hug and pet cows on the grounds of the Zwygart family farm near Switzerland's Basel. The Zwygart farm offers cow therapy sessions, inspired by similar therapy techiques from the Netherlands, which help clients of all ages forget about everyday stresses by patting and cuddling the cute bovines while the calm and restive animals simply sit back and get pampered. The idea arrived to Sibylle after their cow gave birth to three triplets, a male and two females named Sven, Svea, and Svenja, who were destined for the slaughterhouse. Visitors are first taught about the animals and how to clean them, in order to ensure that both the animal and person are comfortable. The sessions last for two hours and cost about $50.
Hand milking cows is one of the world's oldest traditions and professional occupations. Farmers with cows used to gather milk to feed their families and sell some of the milk on the market to make a profit. However, with the industrial revolution and automation of food production, much of the old traditions are giving way to cold and unemotional machines. One town in Italy has organized a special annual event to remind people of the old relationships between a farmer and his or her cow. Welcome to the third annual World Hand Milking Championship, which took place in the Italian alpine town of Malonno on Sunday. Hundreds gathered to watch competitors race to milk the most from their cows in two minutes. Competitors sat beneath their own cows and squeezed milk fresh from the udder straight into a bucket the old fashioned way. The winner was defending champion Gianmario Ghirardi, who milked 8.749 liters of milk from his cow Mirka. Ghirardi was awarded €3,500 prize money, or about $3,840, as well as the 'golden bucket' trophy. Nutritious, delicious, and all natural - yum!
