Despite Record Highs, Black Friday Online Sales Pale Compared To Alibaba's Singles Day

Description

According to a report by Business Insider, this November, despite hitting record highs, this year's Black Friday sales weren't the biggest online shopping day in the world. On Wednesday, while US shoppers spent 2.4 billion dollars online, Alibaba sales reached 30.8 billion dollars globally on Singles Day, November 11th, far exceeding Black Friday's figures. Business Insider reports that most of those sales were in China, however, next year, Alibaba may attempt to poach holiday shoppers more directly.
