SpaceX Launches Unmanned Test Capsule To Dock With International Space Station

Description

According to a report by CNN Business, on Saturday, SpaceX's Crew Dragon capsule, its first spacecraft designed to carry humans, took flight for the time. An uncrewed test mission took off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida just before 3am Eastern Time, a major step in Elon Musk's quest to have the first commercially built spacecraft to carry NASA astronauts to orbit. CNN reports that Crew Dragon, along with a capsule called Starliner built by Boeing, could end the United States' decade-long reliance on Russia for human spaceflight. On Sunday, the capsule will dock with the orbiting laboratory to drop off about 400 pounds of supplies before it returns home five days later.
