Karen Gillan's Glasgow-set romantic comedy NOT ANOTHER HAPPY ENDING is set for release in the UK on 11 October through Kaleidoscope Entertainment. The film tells the story of a young writer who, following the success of her debut novel has a severe case of writers block. The film was the Closing Night Gala of the Edinburgh International Film Festival where it received its World Premiere. When struggling, maverick publisher Tomas Duval (Stanley Weber) discovers his only successful author Jane Lockhart (Karen Gillan) is blocked he knows he has to unblock her or he's finished - with her newfound success, she's become too damn happy and she can't write when she's happy. The only trouble is, the worse he makes her feel, the more he realises he is in love with her... Starring opposite Karen as leading man is Stanley Weber (Therese, Borgia) alongside Amy Manson (Being Human), Iain de Caestecker (How to Catch a Monster), Kate Dickie (Red Road, Prometheus), Freya Mavor (The White Queen), Gary Lewis (Gangs of New York) and Henry Ian Cusick (Lost) , NOT ANOTHER HAPPY ENDING is directed by John McKay (Crush, We'll Take Manhattan), produced by Claire Mundell (Crying With Laughter, Weekend) of Synchronicity Films, co-produced by Wendy Griffin (Wasted) and written by David Solomons (The Great Ghost Rescue, Five Children and It).
