Tech Stocks Rebound


According to Reuters, U.S. stocks rose for a second day on Wednesday, as investors snapped up technology favorites and strong results for General Motors and a host of others lifted spirits at the end of a torrid month for global equities. Shares of Facebook Inc (FB.O) jumped 2.7 percent after the social media giant said margins would stop shrinking after 2019 as costs from scandals ease. The S&P communication services index .SPLRCL, which also houses Alphabet and Netflix, rose 2.03 percent.

    According to Reuters, reports of renewed trade talks between Washington and Beijing led to a rebound on Wall Street. After a day of heavily loses, the FAANG group of tech stocks are all trading higher, between 1-and-2 percent. But industrial stocks were also on the rise, with Boeing, Caterpillar, and 3M rising between 2-and-3 percent each. The top three indexes on the New York Stock Exchange have also made gains on the day. The Dow Jones is already up 177-points, with the Nasdaq up 68-points, followed by the S&P, which is up 20-points.

    According to Reuters, US stocks rose during afternoon trading on Sept. 11th. After a slow start on Wall Street, tech and energy stocks jumped, leading to gains for the top three indexes. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose almost 134-points, to 25,991. Helped by a 2-percent jump for Apple and other tech stocks, the S&P 500 gained 13-points, while the Nasdaq Composite added 47-points.
